Massage Pricing Frequently Asked Questions
What does hands-on time mean?
Many places will say that you are receiving a 60-minute massage but really, it is only 50-minutes. Others charge during the 5-minute intake and the 5 minutes of saying goodbye. Spirit and Body Massage will take time before and after your scheduled hands on-massage to talk with you. We understand that your body is important and we encourage conversations that help us understand how you are feeling and what services we can provide to help your comfort level. So, please arrive 15 minutes early for intake paperwork and enjoy your full 60-minute massage – strictly focused on you. Showing up late will reduce your time on the table.

Can I take advantage of any discounts? Yes, we offer two ways to save: First time clients receive a $10 discount. Loyal Guests can join the Face Cradle Club for savings up to $108
Which services are included in the Club?
All of our standard 60-minute and 90-minute sessions include any modality your therapist is trained in. Remember, we do not believe in up-charges or add-ons. The only exclusions are the Zen Hot Stone and 30-minute sessions.
Can I switch between 60- and 90-minute sessions in my package?
We’re sorry, but our booking software can’t change session lengths within a package. If you purchase a package of (3) 90-minute massages, each session will need to be booked as 90 minutes. Likewise, 60-minute packages must be used for 60-minute sessions.
Some of our guests like to enjoy both session lengths. In that case, you’re welcome to purchase one package of each length—this way you’ll always have the flexibility you need and still enjoy the savings.
Is this the best discount you offer?
Yes! This VIP wellness program rewards you for taking care of yourself. This discount is so low, we cannot combine this offer with any others.
Swedish Massage Frequently Asked Questions
What is Swedish massage?
It’s the most common form of massage, using long, flowing strokes to relax muscles, improve
circulation, and ease stress.
How is it different from deep tissue massage?
Swedish is generally gentler, designed for relaxation and circulation. Deep tissue targets deeper
muscle layers to address chronic tension.
Can my Swedish massage be customized?
Yes! At Spirit & Body Massage, we do not have to follow a routine. Instead, we listen to you and your body. If you need more attention to tight shoulders or an aching foot. We can help — just let us know.
How long is a typical session?
Most Swedish massages last 60 to 90 minutes, allowing for a full-body experience.
Is Swedish massage only for relaxation?
No—while it’s wonderfully relaxing, it also supports pain relief, better circulation, improved
sleep, and overall health.
Do I need to fully undress?
Only to your comfort level. You’ll be draped professionally at all times.
Can Swedish massage help with headaches or tension?
Yes, many clients find relief from tension headaches, neck and shoulder tightness, and stress-
related discomfort.
How often should I get a Swedish massage?
It depends on your lifestyle and goals. Many clients book every 2–4 weeks for maintenance and
stress relief.
Arthritis Massage Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is Arthrossage?
Arthrossage is a gentle, clothing-on style of medical massage created especially for people with arthritis and joint pain. It combines light joint mobilization, muscle-lengthening and circulation-boosting techniques to ease stiffness and support joint health.
How is Arthrossage different from regular massage?
Traditional Swedish or deep tissue massage focuses mainly on muscles and often uses oil or lotion directly on the skin. Arthrossage is done fully clothed and is tailored to protect sensitive joints, using slower, more precise movements designed for arthritis relief.
What kinds of arthritis can benefit?
Clients with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, ankylosing spondylitis, fibromyalgia, or joint stiffness from aging or injury may find Arthrossage helpful—especially during times when symptoms are stable.
What symptoms can Arthrossage help relieve?
Many clients report less pain and stiffness, greater range of motion, easier movement in daily tasks, and improved relaxation and sleep.
How long is a typical session?
You can book Arthrossage as a focused 30-minute stand-alone treatment or add it to your 60- or 90-minute massage session for a more complete experience.
Do I need to undress?
No. Arthrossage is a clothing-on treatment. We recommend comfortable, stretchy clothing such as yoga or lounge wear.
Is Arthrossage safe during a flare-up?
It’s best to wait until acute inflammation subsides. If your joints are hot, red, or severely swollen, check with your healthcare provider first. We’re happy to coordinate with your doctor.
Does it hurt?
Arthrossage is designed to stay within your comfort level. We use gentle movements and always check in with you about pressure and pain.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on your goals and your body’s response. Some clients feel relief after one session; others benefit from a series to maintain joint health between flare-ups.
Who performs Arthrossage at Spirit & Body Massage?
Both Katie and Linda are certified in Arthrossage and bring years of medical massage experience to every session.
Can Arthrossage replace my medical treatment?
No. Arthrossage is a supportive therapy meant to complement your physician’s care plan, not replace medical treatment or medication.
How do I book a session?
Simply call or email Spirit & Body Massage in Prescott Valley to discuss your needs or book online. We’ll help you choose the right length and focus for your session.
Prenatal Massage Frequently Asked Questions
Is prenatal massage safe during pregnancy?
Yes — when performed by a trained prenatal therapist. We use pregnancy safe positioning (side lying and reclined supine) and avoid abdominal work and certain pressure points. If you have a high risk pregnancy, we ask for provider clearance before your session.
How often should I get prenatal massage?
Frequency depends on your needs. Many clients benefit from bi weekly or monthly sessions. If you’re managing pain or high stress, weekly sessions can be very helpful. We’ll suggest a plan based on your stage of pregnancy and comfort goals.
What if I have swelling (edema) or varicose veins?
Massage with gentle lymphatic techniques can help reduce swelling and improve circulation. We avoid deep pressure over distended varicose veins and modify strokes to be safe and soothing. If you have a history of blood clots or thrombophlebitis, we will ask for medical clearance
Do I need a doctor’s note or clearance?
Most healthy pregnancies do not require a note. If you have a high risk condition (pre eclampsia, placenta previa, clotting disorder, uncontrolled hypertension, recent bleeding, or other medical concerns), we request clearance from your prenatal provider before booking.
Craniosacral Massage Frequently Asked Questions
How is craniosacral different from a regular massage?
Traditional massage targets muscles. Craniosacral work addresses the membranes, bones, and fluids surrounding your central nervous system using a very light touch.
What does Craniosacral Massage feel like?
Most people feel a gentle, soothing touch and may drift into a meditative or sleep-like state. Some notice warmth, tingling, or gentle waves of movement as their body releases tension.
Do I need to undress for the session?
No. Craniosacral work is performed fully clothed. We recommend comfortable, loose clothing.
Will one session be enough?
Some feel relief after one visit; others benefit from a series to address chronic patterns. We’ll discuss what’s best for you. Most of all, we suggest that you listen to your body. You will know if your session was beneficial and if craniosacral is something that you want to work into your wellness plan.
Is it covered by insurance?
Most massage therapies aren’t covered, but we’re happy to provide a receipt for HSA or FSA reimbursement if applicable.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage Frequently Asked Questions
How is lymphatic drainage different from regular massage?
Traditional massage focuses on muscles, circulation, and tension relief. Lymphatic drainage targets the lymphatic system with specific sequences of light, rhythmic strokes to move lymph fluid. It’s designed for detox, swelling reduction, and immune support rather than deep muscle work.
Why is lymphatic massage such a light pressure?
Unlike deep tissue massage, lymphatic drainage works with the surface layers of the skin where the lymph vessels are located. Gentle, rhythmic strokes are most effective for stimulating lymph flow. Even though the touch feels light, it’s precisely this subtle technique that helps reduce swelling, support immunity, and restore balance.
Can lymphatic drainage help reduce scar tissue after surgery?
Yes. By increasing lymph flow and nutrient delivery while reducing swelling, MLD can support tissue regeneration and help soften and minimize scar tissue formation at incision sites.
Do I undress for this type of massage?
For lymphatic drainage, you’ll be comfortably draped just like in a traditional massage. Most clients choose to undress to their level of comfort, but lightweight clothing can also be worn since the pressure is so gentle. Your privacy and comfort are always respected.
How soon will I see results?
Many clients notice reduced swelling or a lighter feeling right after their first session. Regular sessions offer cumulative benefits.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Not for wellness sessions. If you have a medical condition or recent surgery, it’s wise to consult your healthcare provider first.
